What a sale costs

Enter a ticket or booth price and choose who pays the fee. Card processing is your processor’s estimate (Stripe and Square list 2.9% + 30¢ online in the US) and goes to them, not to us.

All-in, that’s of the price — about to Exspedio and the rest to your processor. The buyer sees the all-in price on your site and an itemised service fee at checkout. Grossed up so you net the full price once your processor takes its share of the whole charge.

Free tickets and free booths carry no fee at all. Refunds return Exspedio’s fee on the refunded amount.

How it compares

Every figure below was read on the vendor’s own pricing page as of November 2026. Where a page doesn’t say, we say “not documented” rather than guess. Check the links before you decide; prices change.

Our arithmetic from the rates in the table, with Stripe’s standard 2.9% + 30¢ assumed wherever a platform has you use your own processor and Eventbrite’s 2.9% applied to the ticket price. Big shows selling hundreds of booths will find a flat-priced map tool cheaper per booth; Exspedio costs nothing until something sells. Trademarks belong to their owners; none of these companies endorse Exspedio.

Pricing questions

To your own Stripe or Square account, under the rates you have with them (both list 2.9% + 30¢ online in the US). Exspedio never touches it and doesn’t mark it up. The calculator above shows it so you can see your real net, not as a charge of ours.

Buyers pay your Stripe or Square account directly — the charge is made on your account, in your name. Payouts come from your processor on its own schedule (Stripe’s standard payout timing, or Square’s). Exspedio never holds your money, and there is no reserve.

Each event chooses: absorb the fee from your payout, add it to the buyer’s total as a service fee, or pass card processing on too. When buyers pay a fee, Exspedio shows the all-in price wherever a price appears on your site and itemises the fee at checkout, which is what the FTC’s rule on unfair or deceptive fees (16 CFR Part 464, in force since May 2025) requires for live-event tickets. Several states have rules of their own; ask your counsel how they apply to you.

Refund an order in full or in part from its page. The refund goes back through your processor, and Exspedio’s fee on the refunded amount is returned to you with it. Whether your processor returns its own card fee follows its policy, not ours.

Yes. Add your domain under Website → Domains, create the DNS record we show you, and Exspedio provisions the certificate. You can point your whole site at it, or pin one domain to one event. There is no charge for it.

No. A percentage of zero is zero. Free RSVPs, free vendor applications and complimentary passes cost nothing.

The headline rate is 2.5%. Exspedio can agree a different rate with a large organizer; it would be set on your organization by us, show on every order, and never change without telling you.
